Possible incompatibility, install it anyway.ġ0.Once restarted, go to device manager and you should notice a new slot - "Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class", and under it, "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows". Select Microsoft, then on the right, select Xbox Wireless Receiver for Windows (there might be multiple versions, go with what looks like the most recent one - mine was 2.) and click next. Right click on it and go Update Driver.Ħ.Click "Browse my computer for software".ħ.Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".Ĩ.The list will take a while to load. I also tried to manually change the driver by picking it from my PC, as I've read in a thread here, but no changes. NET framework and DirectX, and all the Windows Update's updates, too. Was exactly the same: the wireless receiver doesn't seem to be noticed (not even as an unknown device), the wired controller is reported as a device, but it seems that it isn't considered a gaming device! When i try "joycpl", the controller isn't there. I also tried restoring and plugging it in without any driver installation, for I've read that some people managed to make them work without any drivers. W7 圆4 in compatibility mode (as a lot of people on the internet said), and it didn't work. Yesterday, I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 圆4, and they're not working anymore! I tried installing the drivers for I have both the original Microsoft wireless receiver and the wired controller, and they used to work fine on Windows 7 圆4, with their drivers. The Microsoft community and, then, the chat support suggested me to post my issue here.
